- Otis Revenues this year were DOUBLE last years!!! Fully one-third of our students (200!) turned in forms! This is a huge boost to our ability to implement programs for our teachers and students this year. Thank you Sarah Williamson and CC Hays for going through all those forms and counting all that money and for all the folks who participated!
- Bates will have OVER 50 Midshipmen assigned to us in the Mids for Kids program! Mark Hyman and Julie Ball met with the USNA and secured volunteer drivers to transport the Mids once a week from October to December. The Mids are a huge benefit to all students, acting as tutors and role models in class. Thanks Mark, Julie, and all the Bates crew who have signed up as drivers!
- Over 30 people have attended Volunteer Orientations conducted by Becki Hutchison. Becki and Jeannie Bullen are one giant step closer to realizing their vision of bringing the community in the classroom to have a direct, positive impact on our students' success. Thanks to Becki, Jeannie, and all the volunteers who attended!
- The PTA hosted it's first Coffee with the Principal and had a really nice turnout of 20 parents. Dr. Bragdon spoke to the overall numbers, challenges, and opportunities this year. Parents asked great questions and there was great discussion. Thanks Yvette Davis for the coffee and homemade muffins and all the parents who participated!
- Even before our first PTA official meeting, we have 145 members in the PTA, 221 people in the Volunteer/member database, and 379 emails in the Yahoo group. Thank YOU!
