Math 24 Club begins this week!

Math 24 Club begins this week!

Remember the 24 Math Game from elementary school? You had 4 numbers that you could +, -, x, / to make 24.  Well, now middle schoolers have an opportunity to play another version of that game using double digits, variables, decimals and fractions.   We’ll get together for a few months to have fun playing the game together, and discuss and practice strategies. While the emphasis will not be on the final competition in May, those who are interested will need to practice in between sessions if they want to excel at the tournament.

We will meet every Thursday for March and April leading up to the May 1st county-wide tournament.

If interested, stop by Mrs. LeBlanc’s room 214 THIS TUESDAY AFTER SCHOOL March 4th for an informational meeting , just 3-3:30 so that we can also participate in Help day ! You can take the activity bus home.

Questions? Ask Mrs. LeBlanc mleblanc@aacps.org  or go to room 214.

Clubs!

Please note that Bates offers a wide variety of Clubs after school on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  Highly encourage your child to participate in at least one of the Clubs offered.  It is a great way for your child to bond more with their school and go deeper into subject areas that they love. The teachers are passionate about the clubs they sponsor!

For more information, check out the school's website.  There is even a link to a PDF "slideshow" that gives more detail about each of the clubs.

It's never too late to join a club at Bates!

Calling all Chefs!

Bates is starting a Cooking Club to help give our kids some cooking skills and healthy eating ideas.  We need a few chefs who are willing to help lead a one-hour class after school. We also need "sous chefs", so if you can help on these days, we'd appreciate that too!  If you or someone you know are interested, please contact Peri Lane at 410 267 6333 or peri@theabelgroup.com.

This is part of the Wellness Team initiative.  Healthy kids = smart kids = happy kids!

Clubs!

Hi, Families -

Bates has now posted all the choices for Clubs & Activities and it is quite a selection this year! There is also a "slide show" that give descriptions of each.

Your child has probably already signed up for these, but I thought you might be interested in knowing the choices!

Best,

Lisa
