Bates Bargain Basement - Need Volunteers

It's time again for the Bates Bargain Basement!  For the new and uninitiated, the Bates Bargain Basement is a holiday tradition at Bates that is part of the positive behavior incentive program.  Every December, parents donate new or gently used items, creating a market where Bates students can use their Bates Bucks to "purchase" items.  While kids do buy items for themselves, many are used for holiday presents for family.

Ms. Schlauch (7th grade Science) is in charge of the big event this year.  Here is her request:

I would love to have some parent volunteers to help organize items into price categories, set up the bargain basement and tear down.  We could also use volunteers to help work the day of. This is quite a large undertaking.  We could also use any gently used donated item (except clothing and fragrances items like lotions and perfumes/colognes).  These items are purchased with bates bucks (no cash involved).  Any help would be greatly appreciated! The bargain basement will be Dec 17, held in the cafe during school.

Thanks for all of your help!! We are so thankful for a great PTO!!

Please send donated items to the Bates Office labeled "Bates Bargain Basement".  Also, if you can volunteer your time, please contact Ms. Schlauch directly at DSCHLAUCH1@aacps.org
