A Facilities Committee is forming to take a structured look at the Bates "physical plant" to document and prioritize improvements that could / should be made to the building. This list could then be used to seek funding (public or private) to make needed improvements. Examples range from bathrooms near the cafeteria to sound/lighting for the gymnasium, close-circuit TV, to functional water fountains. We have a gem of a school, but the diamond could use some serious buffing here and there! We are not on the AACPS Capital Budget List until at least 2017.
Steve Conyer (cacconyer@aol.com) and David Shepard (d_m_shepard@live.com) are spearheading this initiative. We could really use some guidance from anyone out there with construction / architect / building experience. Please contact them if you can help with this important committee!
