I received the revised list of midshipmen tutors this evening and I should hope this is the last time it will be changed.
USNA has exactly 100 midshipmen who have volunteered to be tutors this semester. Nine schools (including Bates) requested midshipmen tutors. We received our fair share: 33 of the 100 midshipmen tutors. :-)
Tutoring is to commence Monday, February 7th.
Recap of responsibilities.
(1) Parents pick-up midshipmen at USNA, drive them to Bates, and return them to USNA on time.
(2) You will be given contact email addresses and cell phone numbers for 'your' midshipmen.
(3) You are asked to regularly communicate with 'your' mids.
(4) You are requested to contact a back-up driver (and cc me) if you need someone to fill-in.
Several of you have volunteered to carpool midshipmen but we need a few more parent volunteers. Because time is short, I am forwarding to the Bates PTSF email group the entire list of carpool needs. In the past, we have had one parent pick-up midshipmen and another parent return them to USNA. We also welcome parents who may be able to only drive on a select number of days. We also would like to have a few volunteers as back-up drivers. Of course, our preference is to have continuity but we will make the best of your generosity.
