I'm a librarian at the Annapolis Area Library and wanted to contact you to make sure that you are aware of some fun teen programming going on at the Annapolis Area Library this month:
- For the entire month of March we are taking entries for our Library Happenings cover contest. Library Happenings is our quarterly calendar of events—30,000 copies are distributed, not to mention the thousands who will see the cover when clicking on our website. It is a great opportunity for a young artist to get their work seen. Details are on page 16 of the online Happenings, accessible here: http://www.aacpl.net/events/
spring_11.pdf - On April 6 at 7pm we will host a digital photography class (for teens and adults) by Alison Harbaugh, of Freckle Photography. We have hosted Alison for her digital photography class twice before and every time we get great feedback from participants.
Did you know that the library system has a Facebook page just for teens? Librarians regularly post reading recommendations, contest announcements, homework suggestions and more. Please let your students know! http://www.facebook.com/
Finally, contact me if you have a teen programming suggestion or are interested in having someone from the library talk to your communities about our wonderful Homework Center resources.
