Dr. Bragdon wanted me to send out the update below on the Bates student who was hit by a car yesterday afternoon crossing Forest Drive (for the Annapolis Capital report, click here)
Our student, Mahlina W., Grade 7, is going to be OK. Maurena Darling and I just returned from Johns Hopkins Hospital, where we saw her. She is very bruised and battered, but smiled, and talked. Her mom is doing well handling such a difficult situation. (Many of you have been worried about the parents also tonight). Many people were heroic on the scene, including our dear Annie Sinisi, who helped to identify her. She was flown on a helicopter, as a precaution. Celebrate the weekend with YOUR loved ones........today I made two trips to hospitals and I am in touch with how fragile life is. (Being in the pediatric emergency room at JHH quickly puts things into perspective!)
Please join me in sending your thoughts and best wishes for her quick recovery!
