HARVEST FOR THE HUNGRY CAMPAIGN WITH ONE "CLICK"!
AACPS and SECU
have partnered on our Harvest for the Hungry: Kids Helping Kids Campaign. For
every “Like” on the State Employees Credit Union’s Facebook page between
now and Nov. 1, SECU will donate $5.00 to our campaign. You can
help us generate more funds for this worthy cause by going to this link https://www.facebook.com/secuMD
and
clicking the “like” button (on non-duty time, of course).
Note: While the ad
on SECU’s Facebook page says the money will go to the “Maryland Food
Bank’s Harvest for the Hungry,” our partnership calls for it all to come
to AACPS (Maryland Food Banks runs the overall program).
It can’t be much easier and
take less effort to raise money! Be sure to let your friends know.
EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION AWARDS
Nominees and winners will be honored at the 28th annual Excellence in Education awards, set for April 10 at the BWI Marriott hotel in Linthicum. Last year, 52 top educators and a host of businesses were nominated for awards.
The 2014 AACPS Teacher of the Year will represent the county in the Maryland State Teacher of the Year competition. AACPS has had two finalists for the state honor in the last three years.
The Excellence in Education Awards are presented annually in partnership by Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to outstanding teachers, the awards honor local businesses that have forged critical partnerships that directly benefit AACPS’ approximately 79,000 students.
Nomination forms are available on the AACPS website by going to http://www.aacps.org/development/emp.asp. Forms can also be obtained from the Chamber of Commerce’s website at www.aaaccc.org.
Nominations are due by 4 p.m. on November 15, 2013.
