Bargain Basement is a Bates Middle School annual December tradition. Donated items are purchased by students using their Bates Bucks. Bargain Basement is a wonderful Holiday shopping experience which will be held on Thursday, December 20th. As Thursday quickly approaches, we are still in need of
donations. Donations can include any slightly used or new household
items, books, games, toys, holiday decorations, DVDs, electronics, purses,
jewelry, and any other items that would make good gifts for children, teens,
& adults. We ask that you do not donate clothing or opened lotions
or other cosmetic products. Please drop off any donations in the main
office!
We
are also in need of volunteers to help! Listed below are the times and general
duties for volunteers. Teachers and staff will also be assisting during
these times.
Wednesday, Dec 19, 3:00-4:30pm: Sorting donations. This includes moving
items into the cafeteria to sort into categories and price (5, 10, or 20 Bates
Bucks), moving items back into storage areas, and labeling donations.
Thursday, Dec 20, 12:50-1:50pm (5th period): Cafeteria set-up
for Bargain Basement. This includes moving tables, putting up signs, moving goods
to designated areas, and continuing to sort goods into categories and price.
Thursday, Dec 20, 1:50-2:50pm (6th Period): Bargain Basement
Incentive. This includes collecting entrance tickets from all grade
levels, running tables & collecting Bates Bucks from students, restocking
tables, and assisting students in making purchases for family members.

should check-in at the main office and then report to the cafeteria.
