Hello
all! Well it is a go for the beginning of the Mids4Kids program this semester.
We will begin on Monday, Feb 4th with the transportation of the mids from the
Naval Academy to Bates Middle School and back. We need a total of 12 drivers more to
make this work and a host of others that are willing to be on standby if
someone cannot do it that week.
You
will note that for period 1 & 2 you will pickup your mids at 7:55
from the Naval Academy and then drop them off at Bates. The other person will
pick them up from Bates at 9:30 and make sure they are dropped off at
the Naval Academy by 9:45.
Period
3&4 you will pickup your mids at 9:55 from the Naval Academy and
then drop them off at Bates. The other person will pick them up from Bates at 11:30
and make sure they are dropped off at the Naval Academy by 11:45
Period
5&6 you will pickup your mids at 1:30 from the Naval Academy and
then drop them off at Bates. The other person will pick them up from Bates at 3:05
and make sure they are dropped off at the Naval Academy by 3:20
I
have attached the excel spreadsheet and ask you to look over it and tell me
your first and second choice for driving the mids. If you can
only do one time let me know! I will put out an update list each day and ask
you to take a look at it to make sure I have you in the right slot and if I
didn’t add you to the list please consider volunteering for another slot.

whether you have a base sticker that allows you to gain access to the Naval
Academy (drive on the campus):
I
will work on getting the mids cell phone numbers so you can easily call/text
them to coordinate pickup and drop off locations.
I
ask you to make sure that you are mindful of the midshipmen’s time constraints
and please pickup and drop off on time. Many of them will have a class or a
formation they will need to get to the next period once you drop them off.
If
you are having any problems please let me know so I can do my best to solve the
issues
Lastly,
if you cannot make it one week this is not a problem, please attempt to
coordinate a switch off with another driver or a driver on our back up list. If
you cannot find someone please let me know and I will find someone to pickup or
drop off for you.
