Uniform Store

Hello Bates MS Community,

For several years now, a PTA parent, Barb Dove has been heading up the Uniform Store at Bates.  This "store" is located in a room to the left of the entrance to the cafeteria.  Barb has gathered donations and purchased clothing in order to help those in need of uniforms or uniform parts at the start of the year and throughout the year.  Mr. Starkes, whose office is within the room containing the uniform store, along with other Bates faculty, help with uniform distribution to students they see are in need of a uniform part just for the day or to keep free of charge.  As you can imagine, this store has proved to be well used and a source of help to many students.

Currently, the uniform store is in need of large sizes - pants, shirts and belts.  Thank you for all donations of gently used uniforms and large sizes in particular for the Uniform Store.  Donations can be dropped off in the office in a bag labeled "uniform donations".

Finally, as an 8th grade parent, Barb would like to work with several volunteers in this second semester to show them the Uniform Store process.  Barb describes this volunteer position as very satisfying and really not a lot of time and work.  Please contact Barb to meet up with her at Bates to see the Uniform Store and learn the process.  Parents, grandparents or any friends of Bates are encouraged to contact Barb at barbdove@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your volunteer work at Bates Middle School,
Deirdre
