Dear supporters of
public education in Annapolis,
You're cordially invited
to participate in the next monthly meeting of the Annapolis Education
Commission, April 7th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Annapolis Middle School (1399
Forest Drive), in the library.
Widespread distribution
of this meeting announcement is greatly encouraged. The proposed agenda is
attached. This will be the working group meeting that we had planned for
our March meeting. Our meeting will consist of small group discussions
focused on the 2013-2014 AEC priorities listed below. In the event that
you are unable to attend but you would like to share your ideas or comments
with the group, the point of contact is also listed next to each priority.
Also
to note:
Annapolis Middle School Readathon - Thursday March 20th 3-7pm.
The Literacy Team would like to
invite you to this year’s Readathon on Thursday, March 20th from 3:00 p.m.
until 7:00 p.m. What is a “readathon”?, you might ask. This is a reading
marathon in which students, parents, teachers, staff members, and community
members are encouraged to come and read as long as they can! While some
serious participants will sit and read the entire time, there will be
additional activities for the less-competitive, including Read Alouds and
“Book Sales”. There will be representatives from our community partners such
as the Public Library and giveaways. Please mark your calendars to
attend, and feel free to bring your kids! If you are interested in being a
guest reader or would like to volunteer, please contact Ms. Lerro, Literacy
Coach, at jlerro@aacps.org
The AACPS Economic Impact Study may be opened

The Public Budget Hearings for the County Council are May 8th
and May 12th.
