PTA Legislative Night and AACPS Family Involvement Conference

Just a reminder about two events to be held this week:

1)  Thursday, March 6:  PTA Legislative Night at Maryland House of Delegates, Room 170, 6 Bladen Street, Annapolis.  Bring picture ID. @ 6:00-9:00 PM
All Anne Arundel County PTA members encouraged to attend.  This is an opportunity to share concerns with your district legislators and lobby for issues impacting our children's health, education and welfare in the state of Maryland.

We will meet from 6-9pm in Room 170 of the Lowe Office building on Bladen Street (House Office’s) on Thursday Night. We have The State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lillian Lowery and Molly McCloskey from Share our Strength coming to share their Perspectives on current legislation with us. We will be focusing on 3 Key points: Supporting Pre-K and MMFA, and our Opposition to the funding of the Non Public Aging Schools Program and Vouchers. It is shaping up to be an exciting night! I hope we will see you there. 

2)  Saturday, March 8: Family Involvement Conference. The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Old Mill High School, 600 Patriot Lane, Millersville, MD. The theme of this spring’s conference is “Passport to Success.” Interim Superintendent of Schools Mamie J. Perkins will join participants for breakfast and will bring greetings. Shauna King, M.Ed., will deliver the keynote address, “Jack’s Brain, Jill’s Brain.”  Continental breakfast will be provided. Registration is free and open to the public.
