Building Strong Kids:  What Every Parent Needs to Know About Bullying”

“We’ve sparked a national movement to stop bullying that is transforming kids’ lives and changing a culture of bullying into one of empathy and action.”

April 9th at 7pm at Rolling Knolls Elementary School

Bullying is real, it happens, and we’d like you to join local parents and supporters of The Bully Project, Tanya O'Rourke and Mitchelle Stephenson for an awesome night of discussion and empowerment on April 9th.

This is a great community event and parents from the Annapolis cluster are all invited to attend!  Topics of discussion will include, understanding bullying in our community, social and emotional learning, emotional intelligence, building a community of "up standers", cyber-bullying, and what all parents need to know about bullying in their child's everyday life.  Our school counselors will be there to share what schools are doing to create a safe environment. Find out how every parent and child can become involved in this movement or just pick up some valuable social skills tips for their kids. This will be a great night so “Save the Date”!!  Watching the award winning documentary "Bully" ahead of time will prepare you for valuable discussion.  This movie is available on Netflix for free. Be warned, however, that it’s not appropriate for most elementary students to handle the content in this movie.

Contact Tanya O'Rourke tanyakaarina@outlook.com with any questions about the Bully Project and Katie McCord, RKE School Counselor, kmccord@aacps.org with any questions about the event.  We cannot wait to see you there!
